Don'ts in a Long Distance Relationship

Just like any relationship you may experience, the long distance variety is a work in progress.  Unfortunately it requires that little bit extra attention in areas that  normally wouldn't be of great importance. Here are a few pointers for those of you experiencing a long distance relationship.  A lot of advice provided in this area focuses on the Do's and neglects to mention those things that should be avoided.

Don’t expect too much – In the majority of cases long distance relationships are due to one needing to be elsewhere for their job.  Do not expect your partner to be available to message, talk or Skype just because you are not busy.  Keep in mind that they are there to work and time differences are also something to consider.  Just because they are not talking to you, does not mean that they are doing something they shouldn’t be.  Do not let your mind and assumptions get the better of you.

Don’t put yourself in certain situations – Long distance relationships can leave you miserable and lonely.  Do not allow yourself to be in situations that could potentially destroy what you have with your partner.  Opt out of spending time alone with someone who may be a sexual interest, especially if there is alcohol involved.  It would be a shame to jeopardise your relationship just because you are feeling vulnerable.   Be realistic when making decisions about when it comes to situations that may become out of your control.

Don’t overdo contact – Although the urgency to hear from your partner has amplified, even in a no distance relationship we all need space to do our own thing.  Do not suffocate your partner every second of every day just because they are out of reach.  Remember that you both still have a life of your own, as you would if you were living together.

Don’t expect him or her to come to you all the time – Frequent visits can become very expensive.  Do not expect your partner to always be the one to come to you.  Share the travel between each other.  Also remember just because your partner may have a break from what is keeping them away from you, does not mean that they are realistically able to be by your side.  If you share the travel cost amongst you, it will ensure you have more time together and take the burden of just one of you.

Don’t Flirt – Avoid flirting.  This could give the other person the idea that you are interested and available and get you into situations that could have been avoided.  Save the flirtatiousness for your partner who you are longing to see.

Don’t expect your relationship to fail – If you are a believer that long distance relationships never work out in the end, do your partner a favour and don’t pursue the avenue in the first place.  It will save a lot of your partner’s time when you eventually give up on the idea.  Long distance relationships take a lot of investment and if you are not willing to give it your all, don’t be cruel by allowing your partner to think you’re in it for the long haul.

Don’t Lie – If you can believe it possible, communication is even more important in a long distance relationship.  Be honest with your partner on how you feel.  If you need a day to yourself let your partner know.  Avoid making excuses for why you cannot take their phone call or reply to their emails.  If you start telling the little fibs, it is only a matter of time before you are dishonest about the bigger things of greater importance.

Remember, realistically it may never get easier being away from the person you love and unless someone is/has experienced the distance you are feeling then they are not going to understand how it makes you feel.  But it is important on those hard days to remind yourself that everyday you spend away from each other is one day closer to the day you will see them again.

Beneficial Relationship Tips

A lot of young girls grow up with this romanticized image of our prince charming coming to our rescue, sweeping us off our feet and loving each other so intensely that we lived happily ever after.....
It's a shame we can't stay little girls forever. In reality, relationships need to be nurtured in order to succeed. True love requires work to survive. Here are a few tips to remember to keep your realistic happily ever after, which simply put is a relationship that can last and a love that can stand the distance.

Quality Time – No matter how busy your individual lives are, put time aside to spend quality time with your partner. It is impossible for a relationship to grow and survive if you do not take the time to nurture it.

Appreciation – Don’t keep your appreciation of your partner to yourself. Be sure that they know that they are appreciated. This is often lost over time in a long term relationship. Never let your partner feel like they are unappreciated or taken for granted.

Laughter – Enjoy the company of each other and don’t be afraid to show it. Refrain from taking everything so seriously. Allow yourself to be free to be silly with your partner and appreciate the lighthearted things in life.

Forgiveness – No matter how much you may have been hurt by a problem, once an issue is resolved, let it go and move on. In a successful relationship one must learn to forgive and forget.

Money isn’t everything – Money is often a common cause for a quarrel in relationships. Always remember that there are more important things then money. Discuss the topic rationally, but never let it be a cause for hostility.

Honesty – if something is bothering you in your relationship, be honest about it. There is nothing more poisoning to a relationship them resentment. It constantly eats at you and even though you think it is in the back of your mind, it will end up causing unnecessary problems in the relationship. If you have a problem, solve it. If you ignore a problem it won’t go away and will end up becoming a great deal worse as a result.

Alone Time – It is just as important to have time away from each other to do your own thing, as it is to spend quality time with each other. If you don’t have time to enjoy your own personal hobbies, you will find that you and your partner will start missing out on personal pleasures or be forced to do things that you do not enjoy in order to spend time together. Do not allow yourself to become dependent on your partner. And never forget who you are.

Don’t obsess over the uncontrollable – Never obsess over something that is beyond either of your control. If you cannot change a situation or problem, spend your energy on something positive in your relationship instead of trying to change something that cannot be changed.

Accept Change – Do not expect that your partner is never going to change over the course of your relationship. When change happens accept it. If it changes for the worst and you are unable to accept it, then do not expect your partner to adjust for you. More often than not this is a losing battle. When it comes down to it, would you want to stay with someone who waits for you to change to their preferred image of whom they expect you to be? If you wouldn't do it yourself then you cannot expect someone else to.

Communication – Communicating with your partner is a vital point in a relationship. Find the time to share with each other what is happening in your life. Never let your relationship get to that point where your partner is not the first person you want to share your successes with.

Compromise – A relationship is a 50/50 commitment. You have to understand that no two people are exactly the same and therefore you are not always going to agree on everything in life. You have to be willing to give and take in order to make a relationship truly work.

Vent but don’t attack – We all have days that bring out the worst in us, but never take it out on your partner. There is no excuse for abuse of any kind. So vent to your partner and let them put you in a better mood. But don’t aim your anger at the wrong person.

Support - There is nobody whose support is more accepted and believed then that of your partner. Support each other in your dreams and aspirations. Knowing that your partner believes in you and your desires is just as important then them coming true.

Keep it interesting – Make efforts to keep it interesting in passionate areas of your relationship. Do not allow the passion to evaporate. If your bedroom action needs some spicing up visit www.confidenceiskeylingerie.com.au to revive the excitement!

Start seeing your partner for who he truly is. If you look carefully you'll most likely see, your fairy tale prince charming has already found you! And the real fairy tale is the here and now. He may not be perfect, but his love for you is.

Naughty Poses for Tasteful Photos

Are you looking for something to surprise your man with? How about some sexy photos to send him? Test the timer on your camera and show your boyfriend just how confident and sexy you can be! There are lots of poses that you can try to procure tasteful nude photos of yourself for that special person in your life. Here are a few ideas that could help your imagination when it comes to composing your shots. You can choose to wear sexy lingerie or show off everything God gave you and they will still be tasteless photos to surprise your man with!

The Mystery Pose – this type of shot is extremely sexy without being all out there on display. It leaves room for the imagination. You can use your hands to cover privates and your hand to conceal your breasts. Or just use a dressing gown that falls in a way that reveals snippets but not the whole thing.
The Cleavage Pose – Put on your most cleavage revealing bra and be proud of what you have. Pose in the position you see beneficial to showing of what you have.
The Wet T-shirt Pose – Soak that white singlet/t-shirt and let it cling to your breasts like you have never allowed it to before. Your man will be left drooling at the sight.
The “Cheeky” Pose – Put on a g-string and let the focus be on your bum! There’s a J-Lo in all of us with the right undies!
The Full Frontal Pose – Lose the layers and be confident with what you have. This can be a big confidence booster as you will reveal that you are more attractive then how you feel at times.
Add some accessories - Add accessories to your photos to make them more interesting. Do things and poses that your partner has already told you drive him wild! You can find suitable accessories in our store by visiting our website. www.confidenceiskeylingerie.com.au

The best seductive photo is one where you’re face is in the shot. This attaches you to the body and will be more personal for your partner. Let your imagination run wild. There really is no right or wrongs when it comes to this type of photography. Pull out those heels that you never get to wear and have fun with it. Your enthusiasm will show up in your photos. Be his own personal lingerie model and remind him what he’s got.

Tips to add spice to your relationship

It is easy to become stuck in a rut in a relationship, particularly if you have been together for a long time. In order to keep your relationship strong you cannot afford to lose the spark that ignited when you first got together. Do not let the rut and routine of life, interfere with your relationship. By following these tips you can keep the spark alive in your relationship.

Take sex out of the bedroom – Take the predictability out of your sex life and move it out of the bedroom. Be spontaneous and make a new purpose for the other rooms in your house! Tables and benches have more uses then you may think.

Join your partner in the shower – Sometimes there is no better way to end the day, then to have your partner wash you in the shower. It is a sensual act that can perform as foreplay, so expect to need a couple of showers that night.

Turning Average games into strip ones – Get out your old board/card games that are sitting there collecting dust and for every game or round you play that your partner looses, they are demanded to take a piece of clothing off. The loser that ends up naked gets to have a taste of what it’s like to be a winner, by being rewarded with removing the remaining clothes on their partner.

Send your partner naughty messages, photos or videos – Sometimes it can be as simple as a raunchy text message to let your partner know that you wish they were with you. Send teasing messages throughout the day and get the benefits when they arrive home with built up anticipation from your message, photo or video. Let go of your insecurities and have some fun.

Lock Lips as often as you can – Break routine and instead of your regular good morning or goodnight kisses, surprise your partner throughout the day with spontaneous kisses. Even though this is something small, kisses can often be the first thing to disappear in a long term relationship. By avoiding this; it can also be a simple way to keep the spark alive.

Stop thinking about time – If you and your partner do not get into bed until very late, stop worrying about how tired you will be in the morning if you respond to the advances of your partner. Let go and have fun! I guarantee the smile on your face alone will get you through the following day, no matter how late you got to sleep.

Add Lingerie to your wardrobe – A lingerie set can show your partner that you are still willing to make the effort to excite them and can also leave the wearer feeling as sexy as they ever have. There is nothing like the feeling of watching your partner react to the revealing garments. They may not stay on long, but they are worth the flaunting. Visit www.confidenceiskeylingerie.com.au for a great range of affordable lingerie.

Bring in the toys – Instead of continuously doing what you are comfortable with in the bedroom, why not try new things. Try taking toys into the equation. Alternatively, if you are not comfortable with this try out new positions or watch a naughty movie.

Try your best to keep things interesting in a relationship. The longer you have been together the more effort you have to put in, because less things are new in the relationship. Make it a daily point to show your partner that they are still as important to you as when you first got together.

First Date Tips

First dates can be extremely nerve racking. Here are a few tips to remember on a first date to relieve the pressure a bit.

Be on time - The most important thing to remember on a first date is never be late. This is a bad first impression and will have your date thinking that you are either uninterested or just plain unreliable. If your tardiness is beyond your control be sure to let your date know the situation. Do not have them waiting for you without knowledge of what is going on.

Grooming – Take pride in how you dress. First impressions are important. If you cannot make the effort for a first date, then you will come across as uninterested or just plain lazy. With this being said, you want to look good but you also want to be comfortable in what you are wearing to avoid adjusting and fiddling with your attire throughout the date.

Talk and listen – Spend equal amounts of time doing the talking and listening. For those who are shy, do prior research on conversation starters. This will minimize any awkward silences in the evening. Get to know your date by asking questions and then offer your own answer to the same question.

Drink responsibly – Many choose a few quiet drinks for a first date as the alcohol takes the sting off the nerves. If you chose to do this, be sure to drink responsibly to avoid embarrassment or disaster. Be sure to stay within reason especially if you are driving your date home.

Compliments – Compliment your date at any chance that you see fit. It is always nice to hear that people notice those little things that you have given extra attention to. ie an outfit. Be sincere in your compliments and do not over-compliment as it may come across as being desperate. It can also leave your date feeling uncomfortable.

Pick up the cheque – if you were the one to ask your date out, it is only respectful that you pay for the date. Some people have issues with being shouted for. If this be the case, make the suggestion of going dutch. It is hard to tell what category someone is in when you are first getting to know them. It doesn’t hurt to ask your date if they mind if you pay for the meal. This is more commendable then asking them if they want to go dutch.

Meeting Up – Always offer to pick your date up. Even if you are declined at least you are showing that you are willing to make it as easy as possible for them. Choose a meeting place that is somewhere in between where you both live. You do not want either of you to go out of your way and possibly out of your comfort zone.

Avoid assumptions – Unless you are absolutely sure that your date is into sports or dancing etc do not plan a date specifically for these events. Etc do not take your date to a sports event unless you know that sport is an interest of theirs. This may be right up your ally, but the point of a first date is getting to know each other. There is no point in being somewhere that both of you are not going to enjoy.

Smile with confidence – this will show your date that you are enjoying yourself and that you want to be there. Pretty simple really, but can make all the difference to the person accompanying you. Be confident. If you are not confident, pretend you are. Confidence is incredibly sexy.

And perhaps the most important thing to remember -

Be Yourself – Embrace all that you are. Show the real you. If you are going to hook your date into wanting to learn more, the only way to do this is by being yourself. Do not waste anybodies time by pretending to be something that you’re not, only for that person to find out the real you weeks or months in. It is the real you who you want them to fall in love with.

I wish you all success in your dating adventures!

6 things to remember after an unwanted break-up

There is never an easy way to except that something you invested all your time, energy, emotions and whole heart into is now over. Even worse then that you have now been left feeling that you are worthless and not worth fighting for. However, this could not be further from the truth. Although some things feel beyond your control right now, here are a few pointers to remember during the heartache.

  1. Remember you did not fail – Often when a relationship ends the unwanted party feels as if they have failed. Remember that it takes two to make a relationship succeed and although your ex may have made you feel like you were the reason for the ended relationship, it is more likely that you were both on very different paths in life. Do not allow yourself to fall into depression and self hatred or take the blame upon yourself. Instead, take comfort that you tried your best to make things work. Often people completely change to suit their partner. Another thing to remember is that there is a big difference between compromise and loosing yourself. You should never change who you are for somebody you love. The right person for you will love you for exactly the person you are. If your partner feels the need to change you, then you are not the person they should be with.
  2. It takes time – Do not force yourself to move on. You and you alone will know when you are ready to get back in the game. Do not be pushed into anything you do not want to do and avoid dating prematurely. Your feelings in a rebound relationship, will always be questioned by yourself. With this being said, some move on quicker than others and you are the only one who can decide for yourself if you have reached that point.
  3. Avoid Break up Sex at all costs – It doesn’t matter how mature you think you are, sex between old partners is never just a physical act. Although it might feel like a good idea at the time, this is never a good idea. If anything it just takes you backwards and prevents you from moving on. As much as you tell yourself it does not mean anything to you, being connected in this way on some level keeps the relationship alive for you, when you should be in search of ways to leave it in the past.
  4. Cut the ties - The most important thing to remember when breaking up is to cut the ties with your ex. Although this may seem like the hardest thing you can possibly do, in the end it will be the one thing you need to truly move on with your life. As tempting as it sounds to remain friends with someone who once meant everything to you, it is not realistic, at least not at first. If you did not want the break-up you will undoubtedly hold feelings of wanting to reunite and the reasons that your relationship did not work will be hidden from you. Even if you and your ex are mature enough to remain friends and on some level succeed in this, it is something that will not last if one party wants to reunite and will only cause more pain then there needs to be. What you need is to take a step back and take time to yourself. Once you can spend a whole day without thinking about your ex you will begin to see all the reasons you were not right for each other. If you don’t allow yourself to move on, you will find yourself focusing on the good things about your relationship, as appose to those things that divided the partnership to begin with.
  5. Be hopeful of the future – Do not allow yourself to live in the past. The future is ahead of you and holds a chance for you to do things that you may have held off on to be with your ex. Focus on you. Find yourself again and have a little fun! Embrace hobbies you have never had the time for before and take those risks on life’s experiences that you have never had courage to try.
  6. No regrets – Do not look at your ended relationship as time wasted. Instead look at it as an experience and learn from it. This experience can force you to discover what it is that you do want in a relationship and possibly even bring you additional wisdom during your next. Not everything lasts forever, but that doesn’t make it any less real.

Keeping With Tradition

Society holds many traditions, keeping old beliefs and rituals alive in our present day lives. One of the many traditions is the giving of anniversary gifts. There is a certain theme for each anniversary. Not only is this romantic and customary, but it also gives a guide line to those who are not so superior at gift giving.

Not everyone decides to stick with the traditional gift giving ideas which is why I have also added the official modern day gifts as well. The great thing about these themes is that you can personalize them however way you like. There are many gifts that can be given to follow the theme, the only limit is your imagination.

Here are the official modern and traditional lists of gift giving for anniversaries:

Others choose to opt for a much more personal touch and buy something that they know their partner will love or alternatively something that they know their partner wants. The great thing about gift giving is there really are no rules or limitations. It is a personal act that is often just as enjoyable for the giver as for the receiver.

For those of you that loathe buying gifts, instead of going with the impersonal voucher idea, consider taking your partner away for the weekend and spoiling them any way you see fit. Quality time can often be the best gift to give or receive.

Lingerie Styles Explained

BABYDOLL

A babydoll is a short, loose fitting nightgown intended as nightwear for women. The most common babydoll is fitted around the bust area and then loose flowing on the bottom. Typical babydolls are trimmed with lace, ruffles, fur, bows and ribbons. They usually have spaghetti straps and come with a matching g-string. Nylon, chiffon and silk are mostly used for making this style of Lingerie. The babydoll is generally short enough to visibly see the underwear and expose the legs. The babydoll is one of the most popular forms of Lingerie and the modern versions have changed dramatically from the original, which are now considered to be collectible vintage items.

View Confidence is Key Lingerie’s assortment of babydolls available.

BUSTIER

A bustier is a structured form fitting styled garment that pushes up the bust and shapes the waist. They often come with additional boning and are popularly worn as outer wear as opposed to an under garment. Bustiers are often mistaken for the corset. Bustiers differ in the way of things such as length and degree of shaping. The bustier only reaches the hips where as the corset is that smidgen longer and although the bustier is flattering to the figure it does not shape it to the point of the corset. Similarly the bustier is often laced up the back much like the corset, but more often than not long row hooks are used which provides a more breathable shaping.

CAMISOLE

A camisole is a very feminine sleeveless undershirt for woman that is often made of nylon, satin or cotton and is regularly referred to as a cami. Over the years they have often been worn as shirts underneath jackets for business attire, but are becoming more popular as pyjama tops. Camisoles are generally extended to the waist but can also come in versions that expose the stomach. Camisoles are much like singlets but often come with a built in bra for support and thin spaghetti straps. With factors such as heat, this loose fitting style is becoming more popular as outer wear.

CHEMISE

The chemise was originally worn close to the skin to protect clothing from sweat. Nowadays the loose-fitting and sleevless undergarment is popularly worn as sleepwear. The chemise is unfitted at the waist and often of a silky material trimmed with ribbons bows and lace. Being without buttons or fasteners, the chemise acts as a ‘slip dress’ and is easily put on by stepping into it or placing over the head.

CORSET

The original corset was a very constrictive garment that shaped the woman’s body into the hourglass figure. Although it is not nearly as restrictive as it once was, the corset still remains the most structured style of lingerie. In today’s society the corset is just as popular as outer wear as it is as an undergarment. Most corsets have lacing up the back that is tightened to gain more shape. Hook and eye are also a form of fastening up in the front. The corset comes with boning that aids the shape of the waist and flattens the stomach.

TEDDY

A teddy is basically a
one-piece swimsuit or bodysuit, covering the torso and crotch with one piece of clothing. This style often comes with an open crotch area to save having to take the entire under garment off. The teddy came about in the year 1910 but was most popular during World War II when women in the military wore pants instead of shirts. The teddy is a combination of the camisole and panties all in one and in newer versions are often transparent or riddled with lace.
